Este libro es al mismo tiempo la memoria de un curso de investigación-creación realizado en la Universidad de Granada (2023) y una herramienta didáctica. Su objetivo es facilitar la realización, en espacios educativos, de debates sobre la ausencia (o el blanqueamiento) de personajes afro en los relatos históricos sobre el territorio que hoy ocupa el Estado Español. La primera parte reúne breves textos que miran a establecer las coordenadas básicas para pensar el olvido de los aportes afro a la cultura y sociedad española, desde las miradas de la antropología sociocultural, el arte y la historiografía. La segunda reúne las biografías de personajes afro que el historiador y activista Antumi Toasijé, ponente principal del curso, ha analizado en sus investigaciones. Cada biografía se complementa con una actividad didáctica de profundización y un retrato figurativo, realizado por participantes en el curso.
